Have you been a Child? Of course, we all have been through this stage. What if I would show you few huge things about India’s Child statistics? Does this alarm you, as a wake-up call? Think for a moment.
- 40 million Indian children (i.e…1/3rd of whole world’s children population) between the ages of 6-11 years are out of school in India.
- One out of every two young children in India is malnourished.
- Only 4 out of 10 girls who enrol complete eight years of schooling.
This is just an overview of whole India, but if we narrow down to metropolitan cities, a situation is still more alarming. A recent study by media has surfaced 800 participating agencies, involved in Child Trafficking across many cities. Friends let me get your notice towards Bhawna Slums, a resettled colony of North Delhi allotted by Government.
This large slum settlement houses a huge number of families that live below poverty line. Most of these slum dwellers are illiterate with no job skills to earn a living. Besides this, they indulge in all sorts of social evils that even include consumption and sale of drugs, as this fetches quick & easy money.
At this common situation, we have identified that many kids have been orphaned due to premature deaths of their drug addict parents. Being sensitive towards these common Child issues, we started “ARADHYAN CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER” to bring hope for underprivileged kids.
